VAUGHN'S 1959 NUMBER-ONE HISTORIC STRATOCASTER® SET White Lightly Aged

A pivotal year of Stratocaster production, with the emergence of more powerful AlNiCo V magnets as standard fare and wound hotter with heavy Formvar (HV) magnet wire, the Strats of 1959 spoke with a firmer, more authoritative voice, but retained the bell-like chime of the earlier AlNiCo III pickups. This is a very classic straight-up vintage Strat tone. This is THE set if you are looking for the classic Texas blues tone of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Number One”, the often imitated tones of Jeff Beck’s “Mustard”, George Harrison’s “Rocky”, and all the way to the funk of Nile Rodgers!

“Best of” vintage specs include:

• Hand charged 0.195" Alnico V vintage staggered sand cast magnets
• Vintage heavy Formvar (HV) copper magnet wire.
• Hand-wound by a master craftsman with a distinct scatter-pattern.
• Calibrated for optimum Bridge, Middle, & Neck positions.
• Lightly potted with historic wax potting.
• Vintage correct black vulcanized fiber work
• Vintage pickup height tension conical spring
• Vintage Nickel Pickup height adjustment screws
• Pickup covers - your choice of black, white or cream
• Vintage cloth push-back pre-tinned wireleads
• Available with or without Historic aging treatment.
• Available in 1959-spec all SOUTH-up orientation, or with Reverse-Wound/Reverse Polarity middle pickup for hum cancellation in combination positions 2 and four on modern 5-way Stratocaster pickup switches. (Please note that original 1959 pickups were all wound in the same direction and same polarity, but those guitars only had 3-way Switches! If you want hum cancellation in positions 2 and four, don't choose all-south polarity.)

Average Resistance & Induction at 70-degrees F:
• Bridge: 7.1K/3.6 Henrys
• Middle: 6.4K/2.9 Henrys
• Neck: 6.0K/2.6 Henrys
(IMPORTANT: Specs change with temperature and many other conditions/variables, especially RESISTANCE.
NEVER use resistance as a firm indicator of a pickups output, tone, or anything else!)
